The VRC

Directorate and Food Standards Agency on surveillance
programmes looking for residues of veterinary medicines
and certain other substances in animals and animal
products.
We hope you can attend
The VRC wants to take every opportunity to hear regional
as well as national views on aspects of its work. This
year Dr John Webster, Technical Director of Scottish
Salmon Producers’ Organisation has agreed to give a
talk.
At the end of both the morning and afternoon sessions,
there will be the opportunity to participate and give
your views to the committee on what has been discussed.
The Committee hopes that by initiatives, such as Open
Meetings and publishing its meeting papers and minutes,
you will understand the basis of the UK’s surveillance
schemes for veterinary residues and will be reassured
that there is independent scrutiny of Government
activity in this important area.
